This painting started out life as ‘Amore” - an abbreviated version of the Sycamore Diner neon sign which included love birds and neon advertising milk shakes. The longer I played with it the more I liked the fluid lines and negative spaces and the less i liked the narrative bits of the birds and the shakes. So I cropped it. Giving me two small paintings (AMO and RE) that I like much more.
